(Estherville) – This is National Farm Safety and Health Week and Ag officials say it’s an important opportunity for farmers to re-focus on farm safety heading into the busy harvest months. This year’s theme is “Safety Today, Success Tomorrow.” Eric Weuve, ISU Extension Farm Management Specialist, says farmers need to make sure their equipment is working properly.
Weuve says farmers need to be alert when operating farm vehicles on the highway.
Weuve says safety around grain bins is another major concern.
Harvest can be a stressful time for farmers. Weuve has some advice for farmers to maintain their mental health during harvest.
