(Fairmont, MN)--One person was sent to the hospital after an accident involving an electric scooter and an SUV Wednesday afternoon in Fairmont.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident happened shortly after 12:35 pm at the intersection of Highway 15 and Johnson St.

The patrol says an electric scooter operated by 22-year-old Elijah Thompson of Fairmont and a 2019 Honda Pilot driven by 40-year-old Xue Schrader of Fairmont were both northbound on Highway 15 when the two vehicles collided in the intersection with Johnson Street.

Thompson was taken to Mayo Clinic Hospital in Fairmont with non-life threatening injuries.
