
(Sioux Rapids)--The city of Sioux Rapids, hit hard by the June 2024 flood, will be receiving $119,580 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The money will support mitigation, reconstruction, and flood proofing to prevent damage from future natural disasters.
Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley said in a statement, this FEMA grant will help Sioux Rapids recover from past storm damage and protect against future natural disasters. Grassley said he’s glad to see these federal dollars go toward supporting the people of Northwest Iowa. He added In the Senate, he’ll keep working to ensure Iowa gets the funding needed to invest in our communities and rebuild after tragedy strikes.
